LTTE DENIES ASSASSINATION REPORTS

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) wishes to deny categorically
reports emanating from sections of the Indian media that our liberation
movement has conspired to assassinate Sonia Gandhi, the President of the
Indian Congress Party.

We are shocked and deeply distressed to learn that responsible Indian
newspapers have, in an irresponsible manner, highlighted this malicious
and baseless story with a sinister motive to malign the Tamil freedom
movement.

The LTTE wishes to state emphatically that it has no intention to
interfere in the internal politics of India nor will it act in anyway
prejudicial to the Indian national interests.
