PRESS RELEASE
NEWS FROM TAMIL EELAM

MUNASINGHE THE DECEIVER RESURRECTED AS ARMY SPOKESMAN
Sri Lanka has re-appointed Sarath Munasinghe as army spokesman.
Munasinghe has become noted for his wildly exaggerated military
claims aimed at misleading the international community and the
Sinhala population in the south about the viability and true
nature of the Sri Lankan war on Tamils. His over-confident
falsehoods have led to numerous embarrassments and personal
ridicule but this has not prevented the government from relying
in their current desperation upon on his gross deceptions.

ARRESTED JAFFNA TAMILS TAKEN TO COLOMBO
52 Tamil boys and girls arrested in Jaffna during Sri Lankan
military round-up and search operations have been taken to
Colombo. All were arrested in April this year and had been
already transferred twice before - to Kankesanthurai and
Anuradhapura remand jails. Of the 52 persons, 12 are very young
girls. The numbers of arrested Tamil people is rising with every
	successive army round-up.

SRI LANKAN FORCES TAKE OVER MORE TAMIL BUILDINGS
Sinhala armed forces have taken over two American Christian
mission schools, private houses and Hindu temples to make way for
a new military camp in Valigamam west (Navali). The areas of
Navali north, east and south also fall under this camp's command.
The all-important road to Vaddukoddai and Karainagar passes
through Navali and travel has been badly affected.

FALSE CHARGES AGAINST A TAMIL OFFICIAL
False charges have been brought against a Tamil administrative
official (Grama Sevaka) in Atchuveli (Jaffna) to justify his
arrest. Sri Lankan authorities have accused him of providing
funds to the LTTE and recruiting cadres in the area.

AMBULANCE HI-JACKED BY ARMY
An ambulance returning from Vavuniya hospital carrying Tamil
patients was confiscated by Sri Lankan armed forces for their own
use and the patients (needing special treatment) were left
stranded. The ambulance was transferring patients to Mallavi from
Vavuniya. The patients are now back in Vavuniya.
