The fisherman, Kandiah Vijendran, was a father of two. LT. COL. ANBU LAID TO REST WITH FULL MILITARY HONOURS LTTE Lt. Col. Anbu who was killed on Wednesday when the Sinhala airforce bombed the Tamil refugee settlement of Suthanthirapuram, was laid to rest on Friday with full military honours at the Visvamadu national heroes burial grounds. Large crowds of people paid their respects with floral tributes and garlands while his body was kept at the Navam Arivukoodam Hall. Later, to the accompaniment of band music his body was taken to the Visvamadu National Heroes hall for paying final respects. Here too, vast crowds of people honoured their freedom fighter with flowers and garlands. The eternal flame was lit by Sanjay, chief of the Navam Arivukoodam. Valedictory speeches were delivered by Ms Pon Thiyagam, chief of the National Heroes institute; Para, head of the Judicial division; Rajan master from the Finance and Management division and Bagawath Singh from the Palmyrah and Coconut products association.
