Some arms and ammunition were captured. 5 LTTE fighters died during the attack. EPRLF LOSE 7 ARMED MEMBERS LTTE forces on Friday counter attacked a group of armed EPRLF men working for the Sinhalese army who had come to attack the LTTE. The group had come to Eravur-Punnaikuda (Batticaloa) to launch an attack when the LTTE counter ambushed them killing 7 members of the mercenary forces. Some arms and ammunition were captured while LTTE forces did not suffer any casualties. OCCUPYING ARMY SHOOTS TAMIL YOUTH Sinhalese armed forces on Thursday shot dead Jogarajah an innocent eighteen-year-old Tamil youth in Madduvil (Jaffna) as he was reading the local election poster. The armed forces then claimed that the youth was tearing the poster and that they found a hand grenade in his possession. TAMIL CIVILIAN LOSES LEG IN ARMY LANDMINE 46-yearold Rasaiyah Selvarajah lost his right leg as a landmine buried by the Sri Lankan army exploded. The incident happened when he walked in the outer precincts of Periya-ammal hindu temple in Mallakam (Jaffna). LTTE CASUALITIES On 18th of December, 5 LTTE fighters died while confronting the occupying Sinhalese forces during an army round up of Kovilsanthai-Karaiveddy areas (Jaffna). The dead LTTE fighters are: Major Elilarasan, Capt. Ilavarasan, 2nd Lt. Karuvelan, 2nd Lt. Banugopan, and Lt. Vanan. 4 LTTE fighters died on the 16th of December in a clash with the Sinhalese armed forces during a round up in Vadamarachchy (Jaffna). The LTTE fighters who died are: Lt. Colonel Aruchchuna, Major Thenamuthan, LTTE fighter Karunan and 2nd Lt. Mahendran. Last Monday LTTE Lt. Kanthasamy died in a clash with the Sinhalese forces during an army round up in Karaiveddy (Jaffna). On 11th of December, Capt. Maran and Lt. Karuna died in a confrontation with the occupying Sinhalese forces in Alvai (Jaffna). On Friday LTTE fighter Nilavan died in an accident in Vanni.
